What this on-page SEO analysis checks

On-page SEO is everything on the page itself that helps search engines understand and show it: the title and description, the heading outline, the canonical tag, language tags, indexing signals, and the cards people see when the link is shared.

This checker fetches one URL and runs more than 40 checks across six areas, with a plain fix next to every issue. It reads the HTML your server sends, which is what most crawlers see first.

Six areas in one scan

  • PassedIndexing: status code, redirects, noindex, robots.txt
  • PassedMeta tags: title and description with pixel widths, viewport, language
  • PassedHeadings: H1 count and the full H1 to H6 outline
  • PassedCanonical: present, absolute, and pointing at the final URL
  • PassedHreflang: valid codes, x-default, and return links
  • PassedSocial cards: Open Graph and X tags, image size

How to fix on-page issues in the right order

Not every warning matters equally. Work from the top.

1. Make sure it can be indexed

A noindex tag, a robots.txt block, or an error status keeps the page out of search. Nothing else matters until these pass.

2. Send one clear signal

One canonical pointing at the final URL, one H1, one title. Mixed signals make Google guess which version to show.

3. Earn the click

Then tune the title and description to fit Google's width, and fix the social card so shared links get clicked too.

What a page checker can't tell you

A clean scan means the page is easy to crawl and understand. It does not mean it will rank. Rankings also depend on how well the content answers the search, the links pointing to the site, and how competitors compare.

Use this checker before you publish, after a redesign or migration, and whenever a page drops out of search. For a whole site, a crawl of every page finds patterns a single scan can't.

Good times to run a scan

  • PassedBefore a new page or launch goes live
  • PassedAfter a CMS, framework, or domain migration
  • PassedWhen a page drops out of Google or loses its snippet
  • PassedWhen a shared link shows the wrong preview

FAQ

On-page SEO checker questions

It is a review of the parts of a page you control directly: the title, meta description, headings, canonical, indexing tags, language tags, and structured content. The goal is a page that search engines can crawl, understand, and show with a clear snippet.

This checks one page at a time. A full audit crawls the whole site and also looks at site structure, speed, internal links, content gaps, and backlinks. Use this tool for quick checks and a full audit for strategy.

No. The score shows that the on-page basics are in place. Ranking also depends on content quality, competition, and links, which no single-page checker can measure.

Indexing problems first (noindex, robots.txt blocks, error status codes), then conflicting canonicals and missing H1s, then title, description, and social card polish.

This checker reads the HTML your server sends, before any JavaScript runs. If your site adds tags or headings with JavaScript, they appear in your browser but not in the raw HTML. Google can render JavaScript, but social apps and many AI crawlers read only the raw HTML, so tags added later may never reach them.

Yes. After a scan, use Copy link. The link reruns the scan for the same URL, so whoever opens it sees the current state of the page.

Yes. We save the URL you check, the results, and any error for 12 months, with your IP address and approximate location, so we can find what goes wrong and improve the checker. If you use the AI fix plan, the list of failed checks and the page's title, description, and H1 are sent to our AI provider to write the plan. See our privacy policy.
